Pre-K to 12 Education

Hillside Montessori School

Hillside Montessori of LaGrange, Inc provides a nurturing environment in which children are encouraged to develop their intrinsic desire to explore and learn. Hillside Montessori is driven to help children reach their fullest potential by cultivating independence, compassion, and integrity so they may contribute meaningfully to their community and world. The Montessori classroom is designed to meet the needs of students in a multi-age environment. Younger children learn from observing their older classmates, and older children deepen their understanding of concepts and practices by modeling them for their younger classmates.

Lafayette Christian School

Lafayette Christian School is a board-governed, community-based Christian school accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Association of Christian Schools International. Lafayette Christian School strives to educate and inspire students to positively impact their culture and their future by providing an education that is scholastically excellent and Christ-centered in a supportive and caring environment where students’ spiritual, physical, mental and social gifts are developed to full potential. LaGrange Academy

LaGrange Academy is an independent college preparatory school formed in 1970. THINC College and Career Academy

THINC is a charter school for high school students under the umbrella of the Troup County School System. The THINC academic is flexible, technology-rich and responsive to students’ needs. Troup County Schools

The Troup County School System serves more than 12,000 students in grades pre-K through 12 with a commitment to excellence that resonates among students and faculty. Students in LaGrange, West Point, and Hogansville attend Troup County Schools, which is divided into three school zones, including three high schools, three middle schools, and 12l elementary schools. Five local elementary schools are Georgia Reward Schools, a distinction reserved for schools with the highest performance or biggest academic gains made by students over a three year period. All three high schools are Advanced Placement Honor Schools with LaGrange High School named to the US News and World Report’s list as one of the “Best High Schools” in the nation.

Higher Education

LaGrange College

Founded in 1831, LaGrange College is the oldest private institution of higher learning in Georgia. It has consistently been ranked in the top 10 and as a “best value” among Southern colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and offers 53 academic and pre-professional programs as well as graduate degrees in education. In addition to the traditional undergraduate day program, the institution offers an Evening College that allows working adults to earn a degree.

Point University

Point University was formed in 1937 as Atlanta Christian College based in East Point. This private, four-year liberal arts institution relocated to West Point in order to expand its mission and campus size. Point University offers associate and bachelor’s degrees in 24 fields of study and 21 minors in areas ranging from biblical studies to biology, with a broad and challenging curriculum.

The main campus is located in downtown West Point at the renovated site of the historic West Point-Pepperell, a renowned textile manufacturing company.
