City of West Point
A key railroad junction, West Point was targeted by the Union Army in "The
War Between the States." Fort Tyler still stands as a memorial to the
battle there.

Today the progressive city of 3,382 residents boasts a technology park, a strong industrial base, and a warm and welcoming downtown.

The city is governed by a mayor and board of aldermen. They meet on the
2nd Monday at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Visit their website at
