Exxon Mobil Chemical (51-150 employees)
The Exxon Mobil plant has had zero layoffs since it began operations in September 1992.
Believing "happy employees are productive employees," the company offers 100% tuition and book reimbursement to all employees. The plant has partnered with 12 local schools for the past 16 years, providing tutors, mentors and school council representatives.
The plant has donated more than $180,000 in grants to the school system since it began operation. In addition, employees provide 200 book bags with supplies to the school system each year.
The company pays $500 to an employee's organization of choice upon the employee volunteering 20 hours. The plant averages 30 per year, resulting in $15,000 donated to worthy causes. Since the program began, more than $450,000 has been paid to nonprofit organizations within the community, most of which relate to education.
P&G Duracell (150-500 employees)
Duracell celebrates three generations of families working at the plant and will celebrate 30 years in LaGrange in 2010.
Despite the economic conditions of 2009, the company invested heavily in its building, equipment and employees with the goal of raising the skill levels of all associates to improve productivity and become better prepared.
Employees raised over $50,000 for the United Way! Primary support to other organizations includes $20,000 to March of Dimes, $15,000 to Berta Weathersbee, and 52 Salvation Army Angels.
Through changing the game in 2009, the company continues to grab market share from its competition and to prepare for future expansion into new products.

InterfaceFLOR exemplifies going green with a commitment to eliminate any negative impact the company has on the environment by 2020. Named to the prestigious Companies that Care Honor Roll in 2009, InterfaceFLOR has demonstrated their commitment to their employees and their communities.
In the most recent 2009 Floor Focus Magazine survey, the company was recognized as a leader in the Green Kudos category and was listed in the top two throughout the five manufacturers categories: Service, Quality, Value, Performance & Design. InterfaceFLOR ranked second in the very important category for Best Overall Business Experience.
In 2009, associates volunteered 9,000+ hours in community service to various organizations. The company donated more than $500,000 in money and carpet to local organizations. In addition, associates gave more than $30,000 to United Way agencies in 2009 and have pledged more than $32,000 in 2010.
