On January 29, 1923, the Union Missionary Society of LaGrange first met at the First Presbyterian Church for the purpose of forming an association for the handling of "charity cases" in LaGrange. The name chosen for this organization was "LaGrange Welfare Association". In 1991, we became a corporation and changed our name to LaGrange Personal Aid Association, Inc. We are proud to be a United Way agency.
Mission

We are a non-profit organization, established to provide temporary assistance to residents of the Troup County / West Georgia area during time of distress, illness or disability. Assistance is provided at the time of need, in whatever form is suitable to the client's situation.
